Difference between Alzheimer's and Dementia

“Dementia” and “Alzheimer’s”

  1. Dementia is a “general term” use for the loss of memory while Alzheimer’s is a “type of dementia”.
  2. Dementia is a “normal part of aging” while Alzheimer’s is “not the normal part of aging”.
  3. Dementia results from different disorders like Alzheimer’s and Alzheimer’s is caused by the abnormal build-up of protein around brain cells.
